Everywhere in the capital you can find traces of its changeable history. The luxurious buildings of the times of the Kaiser are interspersed with socialist panel buildings. The Second World War and the wall, which for almost thirty years divided Berlin into the East and the West, left their traces, partly visible to this day.
But nevertheless it is felt, that Berlin for the last two decades again has turned to a single whole. The metropolis on the Spree once again proudly declares itself as the residence of the government and the center of Germany.
